Hair bailed mid-event, but the mic stayed on🎤

When I tell you I pulled my hair out at my last work engagement I am NOT EVEN EXAGGERATING one single bit.

I even have the photo evidence to prove it:

Was it from stress? NO.

A high maintenance client? NEWP. The literal opposite.

All that Crossfitting giving me superhuman brushing strength? Ummm, no. Nice try, Page.

A random fluke of life for a girl with hair extensions travelling halfway across the country to emcee a 500+ person event and the risk of half her hair flapping off her literal head whilst on stage? YOU GOT THAT RIGHT, FRIEND.

What was a girl to do?

I couldn't very well find a stylist at 10pm to fix this, so...

I took a page out of the innovation playbook (Thank you amazing keynote speaker, Bill Stainton!!), unwove my own weave, lay those suckers out to dry for the week, rocked a slick-back ponytail the whole time and had the time of my life on stage for two days with one of my new favorite companies, THAT'S WHAT!

Anywho...

I just had to share because I know you also have experienced times like this when things are going horrendously and you think, "Omg this is jinxed", "I shouldn't have (blank)", or "The universe is telling me not to (blank)."

Instead maybe we just say, "COME AT ME, UNIVERSE." And then show the universe what's up. You'll be stronger for it AND you'll have a great story to tell.

See you back here next month so we can talk about rolling with the unexpected like a pro, and hey... let's keep in touch while we’re at it.

Here are some ways to connect (and get lots of free content) between now and then:

And of course you know I’d always love to work with you and your people. If you’re ever looking for a keynote speaker or corporate training, just let me know the details here:

Thanks for being here and thanks for working at getting on the same page with the people in your life. We're all in this together!

Here’s to turning last-minute disasters into stage-worthy stories!
